Bunk house accommodation in the South Lakes
Rick & Steph Fry have lived in Witherslack for over 20 years, and brought up their family in these idyllic surroundings. Both are cycling, walking and ski-ing enthusiasts, and over the years, their dream was to run a purpose-built bunk barn, for other like-minded people. Steph is the village volunteer Community Responder, working with others to help keep this rural community healthy in mind and body. Their dog Toby is an important team-member.

Check out the Sustrans cycle routes; Walney to Wear Coast 70; Bay Cycle Way 700; Lakes & Dales Loop.
Local and national walking routes right from the barn door: Cumbria Way, Dales Way, Whitbarrow National Nature reserve.
Culture & Gardens:
Historic houses: Levens Hall, Sizergh Castle, Holker Hall all within a short drive. Halecat gardens, home to Abi & Tom’s plants and various artists is nearby too, as is the lovely parish church at Witherslack.
Food & Drink:
We’re not a catered accommodation but we can organise food or meals for you if you don’t want to carry your own supplies. Just let us know when you book.
There is also our fabulous local pub, The Derby Arms a 10 minute cycle or 30 minute walk away via the woodland walk, serving wholesome food and great ales.
Other nearby pubs are the Hare & Hounds at Levens, and the Wheatsheaf at Brigsteer and the Gilpin Bridge. The quaint town of Grange-over-Sands is just down the road with a great selection of cafes, pubs and strolls.
